Week 8 Challenge

SORRY!! I am super late in getting this posted! I can't believe we are on the last week! The challenge this week will reflect on the goals you made in this first week. You will earn 1 point for each goal you reached. To earn the 3rd point I want you to share something on this post that you have learned this past eight weeks and will commit to continue to do after the challenge.

  1. I have loved this challenge because it has helped me take a closer look at what I'm putting in my body every single day. I have learned how to snack better during the day and I will continue to "eat clean". I will also continue to keep a good exercise schedule and have just begun training for my first ever half marathon that I'll be running in February!

  2. I love this challenge too. I haven't always stuck to it all the way through, but for me it is the best diet and best way to restrict bad foods. This time one of my goals was to not eat any treats/sugar, not even for my cheats. I learned this time that I CAN say no. I passed up two birthdays, a baptism party, two late night work binges and a gallon of my favorite ice cream among many other things. One thing I will try to keep doing is to limit those going forward. It's hard, but not impossible.

  3. I learned that drinking water helps me lose weight. It's so hard to get eight cups a day but it really helps. I also learned that exercise does not have to be miserable. I am going to keep drinking water as much as I can, maybe not eight cups, but more than I did before.

  4. I have learned that being healthy is not what the scale says, but how I feel. If I'm exercising and eating healthy I feel SO much better than when I'm not doing those things, even if I don't lose weight. It's easy to get frustrated when you get on the scale and don't see a drop in the numbers, but how I feel is so much more important to me than those numbers! I also learned that if I drink 1 gallon of water/day I feel SO much better and really don't have room for junk food. I am going to continue exercising Mon-Fri, eating healthy (except the occasional treat), and drinking LOTS of water! -Mauri

  5. I have learned that even though life gets busy and I don't always take time to exercise, I can still take ownership over what I put in my mouth. I have learned that a good diet is key to losing weight...and no amount of exercise can compensate for that. I am going to continue to not eat white bread and eating healthy snacks. (Sharee)

  6. I have learned that I must eat a fruit for breakfast in order to get in my 5 fruits and veggies a day. I thought that I was pretty close before we started the challenge I estimated 4-5 a day. I was really only getting 3-4. Those tally marks are helpful! I hope to be just as diligent about fruits and vegetables as well as exercise consistently.

  7. Lauren: I'm tired of eating wheat, but some healthy food is yummy. I feel good when I drink all my water. I want to keep drinking. I'm glad I finished the challenge this time.

Me: I always thinking I'm drinking enough water, but when I really track it I sometimes find I'm not quite there. I feel so good when I get all my water in, so I'm definitely going to keep tracking and keeping my intake up.

Heidyn: I learned it's really hard to stay off of sugar, but drinking all the water wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. I want to keep drinking. I think we have a drinking problem in this family...
